"My / Red Lines" presents a recording of a long-term performance by rezzan gümgüm in Ankara in 2019, featuring videos, photographs, and site-specific installations. Over two months in Ankara, intermittent performances were accompanied by pouring red paint from a plastic bottle onto the ground, creating "red lines" that spread across the city streets. These red lines, painted, echo the longstanding rhetoric of "our red line" voiced by authorities, reappear on the streets, and are encouraged to be stepped on. Urban dwellers repeatedly violate the lines that accompany the routines of daily life. Representing boundaries imposed on geography, gender, body, language, thought, action, rights, and freedom, these "red lines" provoke reconsideration and discussion of coping tactics amid the enchantment of the streets amid these pressures and encroachments. They call everyone to take part in the aesthetics of the game of resisting.
